WHERE TO APPLY FOR YOUR MARRIAGE

The Marriage License application is completed in the New Jersey municipality in which either party resides.

If neither person lives in New Jersey then the couple must apply in the town in New Jersey where the ceremony will take place.

Please go to the Marriage License Application tab on the left to complete the application online.  Please note that the date of ceremony, and name and address of the Officiant performing the ceremony is required to complete the application.   You will also schedule the appointment to appear before the Registrar to finalize the application.

WHAT TO BRING TO THE APPOINTMENT

There is a minimum 72- hour waiting time before a marriage license can be issued.  Once issued, the license must be used within 30 days of the pick-up date, and is only valid within the State of New Jersey.
