Fingerprinting

The Eastampton Township Police Department does perform basic fingerprinting for Township residents and employees of township businesses.  This is a free service and is best performed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.  The Police Department will fingerprint applicants for firearms applications, liquor license applications, adoption applications, and employment background checks.  While the Police Department does supply the fingerprint cards for Firearms and liquor license applications, all other applicants must supply their own fingerprinting cards, which are normally provided by the agency requesting the service.  No appointment is necessary.

Firearms Applications

Residents of Eastampton Township who wish to apply for a firearm's purchaser I.D. card and/or a permit to purchase a handgun should pick up the mandated forms at the Administrative Offices at the Eastampton  Township Police Department during normal business hours.  Upon completely filling out the forms and returning them to the Administrative Offices, you will be fingerprinted as part of the initial application. Fingerprints are also required if more than two (2) years has passed since you were originally fingerprinted.  The Police Department has the required fingerprint cards and will fingerprint you without charge.  This service is described in the Fingerprinting section above.

At the time you file your application, you must bring a cashier's check or money order made out to the N.J. Division of State Police, S.B.I. in the amount of sixty-dollars and twenty five cents ($60.25).  This fee is set by the N.J. State Police for processing the fingerprint cards.

If you are applying for a duplicate ID card, a replacement ID card, or additional Permits to Purchase A Handgun AND it has been less than two (2) years since you were last fingerprinted for a firearms application, you must complete S.B.I. form 212A (Rev. 7/94).  There is a eighteen dollar ($18.00) fee payable to the N.J. Division of State Police, S.B.I.   This fee must be made with a cashier's check or money order and is set by the N.J. State Police for processing the fingerprint cards.
