MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT:

  • Must possess a NJ PTC Basic Course for Police Officer Certification/ or be eligible for a waiver
  •  Must be a citizen of the US and New Jersey Resident
  •  Must be between the ages of 18 & 35 and possess a high school diploma
  •  Must possess a valid and current New Jersey Drivers License
  •  Must be able to successfully pass a thorough background investigation
  • The applicant must pass a medical and psychological examination.
  • The applicant must pass a drug screening.

TRAINING:

The Eastampton Township Police Department is an organization of highly trained personnel. In order to maintain this standard, all newly appointed officers will be expected to complete the first week of employment's in-service training which includes familiarization of state/county/and department policies. Upon completion of in-service, the newly appointed officer will enter the Field Training Officer Program. This program, which is a vigorous and challenging course of training, prepares the recruit officer to perform a full range of criminal justice services.
